Odd Bear
This odd bear was given to me by my husband who found it in Shipley market a few years ago. My cross-eyed bear comes from Japan according to a stamp on the base of it. The arms are curved as if they should hang on to something, but we have no idea what? I wonder how it came here, where it has been and who has owned it before me? I treasure it because it links me and where I live to another place and time, also to people that I will never know but with whom I have shared the pleasure of looking at this bemused bear.
