Oliver Cromwell death mask

Oliver Cromwell’s death mask reminds us of Bradford’s Civil War history. The townspeople of Bradford, a wool market town of around 2,500 people, were Parliamentarians (Cromwell supporters) and bravely fought against Royalist troops. As the Tempest family who owned Bolling Hall were Royalists, the Hall was a Royalist stronghold for the second siege of Bradford (1643).
